Question by aybaybay123123: Is the rapid prototype machine going to replace INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS?
I am interested being an industrial designer, but I read something about the rapid prototyping machine is going to a bad thing for industrial designers. (wikipedia)
Also does anybody know if the salary is good for an ID, or if it is really hard to get a job?
Any info would be vastly appreciated.

Answer by tori tLean to design, and to be a technical wizard with the machines that may replace any of us. You will always have work, and if you are first on a new machine, you will get top dollar.
Wikipedia is not always right — in fact they discovered that a lot of medical questions were answered by non-doctors. Keep that in mind when your research leads you there.
I was way ahead of the game with networking and my salary plus commission was excellent. I got burned out with the all night jobs, but my company was getting $ 200-250 an hour for my services. I didn’t get that, but it was ego building to know that I was the one they requested. It also opened even more doors because I became well known in the area I lived.
